My story is not just another weight loss success story,
it is the story of how I learned to love myself and my body again.

Growing up, my weight caused me a lot of grievances. It was truly a difficult period in my life. The mirror reflected my insecurities, leaving me utterly defenseless against my own perception. Food became my emotional escape, and not the right kinds of food. As you can probably imagine, this turned into a vicious cycle. The food I consumed inflamed my body to the point where I felt sick every month, right before my period started.

I tried and failed many times, attempting to reclaim control of my weight and health. I first began exercising, but quickly realized that I was just punishing my body with crazy cardio routines and eating in an excessive calorie deficit. I had to try a different approach. With the help of my now-husband, Arya, I started slowly by changing my diet.

Then, Arya introduced me to weightlifting in the gym. It was extremely intimidating at first, but I kept showing up – every single day. As strange as it sounds looking back, the gym now feels like my second home! Weightlifting helped me boost my confidence, and completely changed my life for the better.

It is my hope that, through Gayantisfit, I can encourage those who are feeling lost and insecure to find that same, inner spark.
